Sid Player brings you the sound of the Commodore C64 to your iPhone and the iPod Touch. Enjoy game classics such as 'Commando', 'Arkanoid', 'The last V8' or listen to the music of 'Rob Hubbard', 'Martin Galway', and many others.
Sid Player gives you access to the High Voltage Sid Collection (HVSC) consisting of over 35.000 songs from 1138 authors. Thanks to the unique sound aesthetics, Sid music is now considered an art of its own and there's a constant flow of new creations.
A Sid file occupies only few kbytes, thus you can quickly download C64 music via EDGE or UMTS and listen for hours. The search function enables you to find your favourites in a blink.

New in this version * Changed transport button behaviour: If you select 'Previous Song' after a song has played for more than 2 seconds, the current song will be restarted (as opposed to skipping to the previous song). This matches common consumer electronics behaviour.
* Underrun detection: The audio driver detects when a song is too complex for the device and will alert the user.
* HVSC Downloading: The top left button in the authors tab will launch downloading the whole HVSC. Tap it again to stop it. Note that it downloads all songs one-by-one, so a) it will take a while to complete, but b) you can always stop it and restart it again.
* Improved Song List: A checkmark will now show whether a song is present in the cache or not. A warning sign will now show once a song has been detected as being too complex for the device.
* New Played Songs Tab: The 'Cached Songs' tab has been removed in favour of 'Played Songs'. Played songs are shown in order of playcount as well as the current play counter. It is possible to remove songs from this tab. This is the poor-man's-playlist until full playlist support will be introduced.
* Revamped Settings Tab: The Settings tab has been completely rewritten. Next to the visual improvements, it now features an additional 'Offline Mode'. In this mode, searches will only cover cached songs. If 'Automatic Skip' is enabled, then songs not present in cache will be skipped. Additional player settings include an 'NTSC mode' and a SidPlayer 'Chip mode'.
* Graphic improvements in the Player Screen.
* HVSC FAQ and GNU Public License texts added.
* Database Update: The database has been regenerated; it now includes the HVSC directories 'Demos' and 'Games', both which have been missing in 1.0.49.
* Some song lengths fixed in the database.
